CHRISTOPHER CHEN
MANAGING PARTNER

Chris is the Managing Partner of Compensation Governance Partners, based in Toronto. He advises boards and management on supporting stakeholder value through effectively aligning organizational strategy to executive pay and governance.

Prior to CGP, Chris was the National Practice Leader of Executive Compensation at a multinational human resources consulting firm. As a lawyer and tax advisor, he provides deep technical and industry expertise in all aspects of executive compensation and governance.

EXPERIENCE

With over 25 years of experience at HR advisory, accounting and law firms, Chris has worked extensively with private and public sector clients worldwide. He has advised human resources and compensation committees in organizations ranging from the S&P/TSX 60 to not-for-profits, providing advice in the areas of governance, compensation strategy, competitive benchmarking and incentive design.

EDUCATION

Chris holds a Chartered Director (C.Dir) designation from The Directors College and has been a faculty member for over a decade. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Marlene Georges
Partner

Marlene is a Partner at Compensation Governance Partners. Based in Toronto, Marlene advises clients on aligning corporate strategy with effective compensation design in a broad range of industry sectors.

Prior to CGP, Marlene practiced compensation consulting at a multi-national HR advisory firm and in-house at an international technology firm.

Experience

With over 15 years of consulting experience, Marlene advises public and private sector clients across Canada. She works with boards and management to reinforce the attainment of business objectives through compensation strategy and best practices.

Marlene is a faculty member of The Directors College. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, with a specialization in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. Marlene is also a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Group Benefits Associate (GBA) and is trained in job evaluation methodologies.
