2023 Private Company Director Compensation Database

During Fall 2023, CGP conducted a survey on director compensation for privately owned companies in Canada. Approximately 180 privately-held companies contributed to the survey representing a variety of sectors across Canada.

2023 Executive Compensation & Governance Database (ECGD)

CGP’s proprietary Executive Compensation & Governance Database includes job-sized executive positions using executive compensation data from participating organizations across Canada, as well as data from publicly-traded organizations within the TSX 100-300.

The ECGD report contains the following executive compensation components:

  • Base salary

  • Short-term incentives

  • Total cash compensation

  • Long-term incentives

  • Total direct compensation

In addition to executive compensation data, we also collect information on the following:

  • Director compensation

  • Governance practices, including say on pay, share ownership guidelines, meeting fees, board composition, independence of directors, gender diversity, and more
