2023 Private Company Director Compensation Survey.

In Canada, a significant portion of businesses are privately-held. Increasingly, private companies are adopting advisory or fiduciary boards to improve their corporate governance. While publicly-traded companies are required to disclose their director compensation and corporate governance practices, this information is not readily available for privately-held companies.

CGP is dedicated to delivering valuable insights and advice for clients. To meet this commitment, CGP has partnered with WATSON Advisors Inc., and Family Enterprise Canada to collect information on director compensation and governance practices at privately-held companies to provide organizations with additional visibility into market practices.

Who should participate?

Owners, shareholders, senior leaders or fiduciary/advisory board members of family-owned, closely held or private equity-owned companies with some form of active board are welcome to participate. If you sit on multiple boards, please feel free to submit responses for each board separately.

All compensation data is kept confidential and is only used for aggregate analyses. Individual organization data is not disclosed.
