Compensation Associate

Compensation Governance Partners (CGP) is an independent, employee-owned consultancy focused on executive compensation governance matters. We support Boards and management by seeking to understand their challenges and then draw from our diverse set of experiences, ideas and opinions to offer tailored solutions; all the while keeping best practices top of mind. At CGP, you will benefit from our perspectives and experiences in a boutique setting. Located in downtown Toronto in the heart of the financial district, CGP services clients across Canada.

What you will do

  • Assist in a variety of executive compensation and governance related projects, including:

    • Performing industry and financial research on executive and Board executive compensation strategy and design for corporations, including best practices and governance

    • Analysis and recommendations on executive compensation levels based on proprietary and third-party data

    • Attending client meetings as required throughout the life cycle of each mandate

    • Conducting research on corporate governance disclosures and regulations, including designing and administrating targeted market surveys

    • Analysis of publicly disclosed company documents or client materials

    • Preparation of summary findings and reports, marketing materials and articles

  • Gain a thorough and deep understanding of best practices for executive compensation governance and how corporations utilize incentive payments to realize corporate and shareholder success

    • Designing incentive plans based on the client’s business strategy and human resources philosophy​​

How you will grow

As an associate at CGP, you will learn the fundamentals of management consulting in a dynamic environment. You will gain insight into a unique practice as well as the nuts and bolts of how a consultancy operates. You will have the opportunity to assist in all parts of our consulting process from client prospecting and project scoping to data analysis and client presentations.

  • Diligent and consistent attention to detail, project management with the ability to learn from their mistakes

  • Ability to adapt and work on multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

  • Exceptional data and quantitative analysis capabilities

  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to engage clients and colleagues at all levels

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

What we are looking for

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math or Statistics by Summer 2025.

  • Understanding option valuation methodologies is a plus

  • Prior experience in a consulting firm is a plus

  • Knowledge of executive compensation and governance matters is a plus
